Chamber presents Jason Project to City Council
On April 5, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce joined the San Antonio Public Library to present the Jason Project Command Console to Mayor Julián Castro and members of City Council. This innovative science and technology initiative, installed at San Antonio’s Central Library, is the first of its kind in Texas and will connect youth with scientists and researchers as they conduct real-time underwater explorations.
The Jason Project, founded by Oceanographer Bob Ballard, will make its public debut this Saturday, April 7 during a special dedication ceremony beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Central Library, 600 Soledad.

The Hispanic Chamber chose to purchase the Command Console as part of its education initiative to introduce students to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields. Through funding by IBC Bank, Rackspace Hosting Foundation and the Pryor Trust of Frost Bank, the Chamber continues its promise to invest in the education of San Antonio’s young people and help develop our future workforce pipeline.
