State Data Highlight Limp Job Market
According to state-by-state data on unemployment, the labor market continued to limp along across most of the country after a winter of solid growth. The Department of Labor reported the national unemployment rate stood at 8.2% in June, the same as the prior month. Today, the agency released further details showing that the jobless rate rose in more than half the states, dropped in 11 states and Washington, D.C., and held steady in a dozen states.
