The 2020 Census is here and we want YOU to help us make sure everyone in our city is counted. The questions that are part of the 2020 Census are easy and simple. Your answers are SAFE, SECURE, CONFIDENTIAL, AND PROTECTED by federal law.
When you fill out your census form, you do the following:
- You help determine the number of seats Texas gets in Congress
- Help Texas get its full share for schools, healthcare, roads, and more
- Provide vital information to community leaders that influence decisions
The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce recognizes the importance of the 2020 Census for our community and have formed a Census Committee to assist in outreach and education efforts for our members. Please welcome Bernadette Pena and Olivia Ortiz, our 2020 Census Committee Chairs.
The Chamber’s Census Committee will focus on outreach efforts geared towards the education of why the Census matters and why all businesses should be encouraging their employees to participate. The committee is formulating a toolkit for small businesses that provides simple and easy resources you can use to promote the census such as a sample draft email you can forward to your employees, talking points to encourage participation, social media graphics, and flyers that can be posted in highly visible areas.
The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber is here to help! We are committed to using the Power Of Our Voice by being counted and understand the implications not having a complete count has on our community. For additional resources or information, please contact Sophie Torres, Vice President of Policy and Business Advocacy at (210) 225-0462 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Want to help?
