Hispanic Chamber announces honorees for 9th Annual Women’s Awards


San Antonio Hispanic Chamber to recognize six women that are positively “Making a Mark on the WORLD”

April 25, 2018 (San Antonio) – The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC) is proud to announce the honorees for its 9th Annual Women’s Awards Luncheon: Making a Mark on the World presented by USAA set for Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at the Pearl Stable beginning at 11:30 a.m.  The awards luncheon recognizes the contributions of women who are quietly and notably making their mark on the world.  These incredible women, our “unsung heroes,” will be honored at the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce 9th Annual Women’s Awards Luncheon “Making a Mark on the World” – Women who Inspire, Innovate and Impact the World Around Us.

Our 2018 Honorees include:

Legacy Award Award given to an individual who is creating a foundation of leadership, commitment, mentorship, and service to those who follow her professional and personal footsteps.  This woman has created a lasting impact in our city, region or state and her efforts and vision will continue to be acted upon for years to come.  She leads with Lasting Influence.

 

Rosie Castro, Community Advocate
Entrepreneur Award With her ambition, determination and entrepreneurial spirit, this woman’s success stems from being at the helm of her own enterprise.  She takes risks, is unafraid to hold her own and welcomes growth at every step for herself and her business. She leads with Persistence.

 

Siew Pang, Sunshine Distributors, Inc.
Innovation Award This individual thrives on transforming her surroundings in an effort to improve efficiency and outcomes.  She seeks out new solutions for problems and pushes others to think outside of the norm.  Never satisfied with the status quo, this woman is creative and bold in her push for the future.  She leads with Imagination.

 

Adriana Cisneros, Art Legacy Texas
Service Award This woman volunteers her time and effort to improve the lives of women or children.  She goes above and beyond the call of duty to serve her community in mind and spirit. Generating positive changes for those around her is what drives her.  She leads with Heart.

 

Shermeka Hudson, Spurs Sports & Entertainment
Community Voice Award An individual who is unafraid to change her community, this woman seizes the opportunity to use her words, position and resources to positively guide change, to spark action in society, and shed light on the issues and organizations that shape the world around us.  She leads with Impact.

 

Patti Radle, President, SAISD Board of Trustees
Inspiration Award An individual who through her everyday actions and ideas, inspires those around her to want to achieve more and encourages women to believe in themselves.  This woman lifts others up and is constantly seeking to help people see the special spark in themselves. She leads with Confidence.

 

Jenee Margo Gonzales, The Marianist Providence of the United States

“These women are trailblazers and are consider by many mentors,” said San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Chairwoman Erika Prosper Nirenberg. “It is through their contributions to our local community that we can truly showcase how women, particularly Latinas, have made and will continue to make a substantial impact in San Antonio.”
