The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will be the first Chamber in San Antonio to implement a Legislative Scorecard to grade our state delegation on their support and advocacy on issues that are important to our members. The scorecard is our effort to hold our elected officials accountable for their legislative actions and to inform our Chamber members about how their representatives are voting.
Over the coming months, the Chamber will continue to outline its legislative priorities that will comprise the list of issues that will make up the criteria for grading our members. The scorecard will serve to help our members better understand how our elected officials’ votes are impacting our businesses. The intent of the scorecard is to serve as an unbiased report of our lawmakers’ support for our collective Chamber legislative priorities.
An extremely active sub-committee of the larger Government Affairs Committee is meeting monthly to complete the project, expected to be rolled-out this summer to share with our state elected officials in preparation for the 2013 Legislative session.
