Located on UTSA’s Main Campus, the North Thermal Energy Plant (NTEP) provides chilled water and steam to a substantial number of campus buildings that include research facilities that operate 24/7. Operation of the NTEP is critical to University’s mission. Chiller #3 is a 1978 vintage 3,000-ton constant speed chiller. This project will remove this chiller and replace it with a new 2,500-ton constant speed chiller. Additionally, a 5,000 kVA electrical transformer that serves this and other chillers is to be replaced. Close coordination with University is required to ensure the NTEP operation continues to provide thermal energy required by the campus during this work.
