The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is also proud to sit on the JSTEM Advisory Committee. Together, we are strengthening our San Antonio students and empowering them to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The JSTEM students will be joining us at the 5th Annual CORE4 STEM Expo on November 15-19, 2014. For more information, please call Brianna Dimas at 210-225-0462.
“JSTEM academy is a “school within a school” located at Judson Middle School. Students who will be 6th graders in the 2014-2015 school year will be allowed to apply in February 2014. The School enrollment is limited to only 125 students. Students will be chosen based on a lottery system and be highly encouraged to attend student and parent interviews to review responsibilities and expectations prior to the final selection of students. The School curricular will be based on Project Based Learning (PBL)model. In Project Based Learning, students go through an extended process of inquiry in response to a complex question, problem, or challenge. Rigorous projects help students learn key academic content and practice 21st century skills, such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking”.
