Wednesday, August 13, 2014 we had a ribbon cutting for Oliveira Hearing Aid Center, a business not just brand new to the Hispanic Chamber familia but to the city of San Antonio as well. The owners, Carlos and Mary Alice invited family, friends and neighbors to share this memorable day.
Carlos and Mary Alice have ventured into many businesses, as owners and investors of one of the main hospitals in Laredo, to owning a successful Pharmacy for 22 years. During that time of having Oliveira Pharmacy, in 1987, they added the hearing aid business. In 2010 opened yet again a larger clinic, Oliveira Audiology & Hearing Center, bringing their daughter, Celina from Houston, to join the Laredo’s only Doctor of Audiology, and only local audiologist. The hearing business has been and still is a very important part of the Oliveira family.
In 1998, Carlos was appointed by then Governor George W. Bush to serve on the State Committee of Examiners in the Fitting and Dispensing of Hearing Instruments, where he served for seven years, yet serving the community.
After 26 years of dedication to the hearing profession, now here in San Antonio, Texas, we are happy to welcome the Oliveira family and hearing aid center to Hispanic Chamber.
