ACCION Texas’ Janie Barrera recognized as one of TAMACC’s 2012 Women of Distinction
The Hispanic Chamber is proud to congratulate Janie Barrera, founding president and chief executive officer of ACCION Texas Inc. on being named one of this year’s Women of Distinction by Texas Association of Mexican American Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC). The Women of Distinction awards are designed to honor Latinas whose careers have included contributions to their professions, community service, leadership and mentoring. Barrera was honored for her work in the nonprofit sector and her unyielding contributions to the San Antonio community.
“The Hispanic Chamber was honored to have nominated Janie for this distinguished award and is even more than delighted she was chosen as one of TAMACC’s 13 Women of Distinction,” said Ramiro Cavazos, Hispanic Chamber President & CEO.
Barrera currently serves as a Board Advisor for the Hispanic Chamber. She has also been a long-standing member of the Chamber and the 2009 Business Awards Dinner recipient of the Hispanic Chamber’s Economic Empowerment Award.
