“Al Aguilar is a longtime friend and advocate of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,” said Patricia Pliego Stout, 2014 Chairwoman and President of Alamo Travel Group. “His passion and expertise makes him the perfect candidate for the 2015 Chairman position. Al will push one of America’s leading Chambers of Commerce, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber, to reach its full potential, allowing the organization to grow and continue to be a leading resource for Hispanic businesses, leaders and corporations.”
As America’s first Hispanic Chamber and a four-star accredited organization, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce continues to be the leader in business assistance, connecting its members to resources, providing marketing and networking opportunities, advocating for legislation affecting small businesses and corporations in the San Antonio metropolitan area, and training to develop the skills of our local workforce.
“Al will play a vital role in moving our organization’s mission forward by assuring that our members have a voice and continue to receive first-class service,” said Ramiro Cavazos, President and CEO for the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “We continue to focus on successful small-business owners that are examples of great entrepreneurs who are living the American dream.”
To welcome the new leadership, business leaders from across the nation and Hispanic Chamber members will fill the J.W. Marriott Resort Ballroom on January 25th at the 85th Annual Gala to hear from 2014 Chairwoman, Patricia Pliego Stout, and to celebrate the accomplishments of Alexander E. Briseño, former San Antonio City Manager and Distinguished Professor of Public Service in Residence at St. Mary’s University, and the 2013 Hispanic Chamber’s Board of Directors.
“I look forward to being part of the legacy that this trusted organization has built since its inception in 1929,” said Al Aguilar. “The business initiatives of past chairmen such as Henry Cisneros, Lionel Sosa, Alex Briseño, and others have left a lasting footprint on our City of San Antonio’s economic fabric, and I will strive to make sure the heritage of the Hispanic Chamber continues to move forward under my leadership in 2015.”
