The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Announces Selection of New President and CEO
Hispanic Chamber Board approves the hiring of Diane S. Sánchez as organization’s new President and CEO
SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 24, 2019) – Today, the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors met and chose Diane S. Sánchez as its new President and CEO. Sánchez is a native Texan and graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She has extensive C-suite executive experience in the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) sector with extensive senior management experience in operations, strategic partnerships, corporate transformation, acquisitions, and market entry engaging in transformational technology. Prior to being selected as the President and CEO of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber, Sánchez served as a Senior Advisor for TriCap Partners, an independent merchant banking and alternative asset management firm, in New York.
She has also played several key leadership roles in transforming the America’s TMT infrastructure and has held senior leadership positions in some of the world’s leading global technology companies including serving as President and CEO for Telefonica USA and Global Crossing Latin America; President of Terremark and NAP of the Americas; President of Global Operations for Mozido; Senior Vice President of Sales and Operations of Alcatel-Lucent in the Caribbean and Latin America; and the Regional Sales Director, Alestra (AT&T) Mexico.

We received dozens of applicants, which were vetted through our CEO Search Committee,” said John Agather, 2019 Chairman of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “We are more than confident that Sánchez with her experience is the most qualified candidate and will aptly lead the Hispanic Chamber as we enter our 90th year of excellence.”
“As Chair of the CEO Search Committee, which has convened for the last three months, my focus was to find a candidate that would continue to lead the Hispanic Chamber with fortitude and vision. The Search Committee feels that Sánchez is that person and we can’t wait to see where she will take us,” said Immediate-Past Chairwoman Erika Prosper Nirenberg. “We would like to thank Rebecca Q. Cedillo for stepping up to the plate and serving as Interim President and CEO while we filled this position permanently. Her leadership and grace has been paramount during this time.”

Cedillo, Interim President and CEO of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “I look forward to serve as needed in the transition and then move on to support this incredible organization as a board member.”
