We are sad to announce the recent departure of our Communications Manager, Jeannette Garcia, who will be missed by her chamber familia.
While in the role of the SAHCC’s Communications Manager, Garcia led all marketing and communications efforts for the Hispanic Chamber, including media relations, special event promotions and scripting, social media, along with a variety of other activities and duties.
“For the past year and a half, I have enjoyed working with and resourcefully problem-solving with an extremely talented staff of young professionals and the Hispanic Chamber board of directors,” said Garcia. “After taking some time to consider options laid before me, I have determined that the time has come to explore new opportunities outside of the non-profit realm.”
A graduate of the University of the Texas at Austin, Garcia has approximately a decade of public relations experience and for the past five years has been a champion of business starting with her previous role as the City of San Antonio’s Economic Development Department’s Public Information Officer. Garcia is also a graduate of the SAHCC’s Latina Leadership Institute.
“We wish Jeannette the best as she continues her career outside of the Hispanic Chamber,” said Diane S. Sánchez, President and CEO of the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “She is a young professional that has immense potential to continue to be a positive contributor to the economic growth of our community.”
