If there is no contact link listed after the description, that means it is a closed committee and is not receiving new members.

Small Business & Economic Development Committee

Provides assistance to and protection of local small businesses involved with the Chamber while communicating the value and importance of small businesses. Determines how the Chamber’s current activities can best serve its small businesses. Makes recommendations on how the Chamber can advocate on behalf of and provide recognition to small businesses as well as focuses on the procurement and financial needs of the Chamber and its members.

Government Affairs Committee

Identifies and monitors issues on local, state, and national levels to support efforts aimed at the prosperity of the Hispanic business community; responsible for ensuring the passage of the Hispanic Chamber’s federal and state Legislative Agendas.

Leadership Committee

Provides guidance and input related to the Chamber’s leadership development programs: Alexander Briseño Leadership Development Program; Latina Leadership Institute; Leadership SA, supported by the HLDF; and assists in identifying potential candidates for vacant board and commission positions.

Membership Committee

Supports the Chamber’s membership retention and new member procedures; meets with members to ensure their needs are being met; organizes membership campaigns and events; and works closely with the Chamber’s membership volunteer group, the “Embajadores.”

Finance Committee

Provides financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the Chamber and HDLF budgets; ensures the Chamber is operating within the financial resources it needs to continue providing programs and services to Chamber members and the community.

Corporate Governance Committee

Monitors compliance with nonprofit governance regulations and provides guidance to the Chamber’s Board of Directors; makes recommendations to the Board on governance policies, practices and procedures related to nonprofit organizations; supports and encourages opportunities for Board development; and leads the annual evaluation of the President & CEO.
