SAHCC Announces 2026 LLI 11 Co-Chairs and Steering Committee Opportunities
"The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's continued commitment to this program not only empowers Latinas to step forward with confidence, courage and connection but also ensures a lasting pipeline of impactful Latina leaders.” said Anamaria Suescun-Fest, SAHCC 2026 Chair Elect
September 2, 2026 (San Antonio, TX) The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SAHCC) is proud to announce
Estrellita Garcia-Diaz and
Stephanie Melchor as co-chairs of the 2026 Latina Leadership Institute (LLI). Both leaders are alumni of the program who know firsthand the power of LLI to shape careers, build community, and amplify Latina voices in San Antonio.
For Estrellita, stepping into the co-chair role feels like coming full circle. “Applying to the Latina Leadership Institute four years ago was one of the most pivotal steps in shaping how I show up for my community, women, and for anyone seeking space and voice to create change,” she shared. “My experience with LLI introduced me to women who are innovative, strong and truly awe-inspiring. These relationships continue to inspire me and strengthen my commitment to building a strong pipeline of Latina talent—leaders who will turn words into action and move our communities forward.”
Stephanie echoes that sentiment, noting how LLI has not only impacted her career but her closest relationships. “If there is one program I’m happy to give my energy towards, it’s LLI. Not just because it supports the professional development of Latinas, but because it supports women connecting,” she said. “Some of the women I trust, love, and respect most today I met through LLI. Having the space to build relationships with other community-driven women is meaningful, powerful, and now more than ever, it’s necessary.”
Since its founding, the Latina Leadership Institute has equipped hundreds of women with tools to lead in boardrooms, classrooms, businesses, and elected office. As founding committee member Anamaria reminds us, “From board and commission positions to elected office to business ownership, this program has been instrumental in increasing both the representation and voices of women. The Latina Leadership Institute is ideal for any woman who wants to share her voice, grow her influence, and shape the future of this community.”
Estrellita, currently Vice President & CRA Officer at Jefferson Bank, and Stephanie, Regional Communications Manager at Toyota Motor North America, bring deep experience in leadership, communications, and community impact to their new roles. Both are also active volunteers with local nonprofits and organizations, embodying the very mission of LLI.
