July 2, 2026
Statement from Luis A. Rodriguez
President & CEO, San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce acknowledges the U.S. Supreme Court decision earlier this week, reaffirming the constitutional principle of birthright citizenship under the Fourteenth Amendment.
As one of the nation's oldest and largest Hispanic chambers of commerce, representing nearly 900 businesses across South Texas, we recognize that constitutional certainty and a stable legal framework are important to fostering business confidence, economic growth, and long-term investment.
America's strength has always been driven by the contributions of entrepreneurs, innovators, workers, and families who help build vibrant communities and a competitive economy. Individuals born in the United States continue to play an essential role in starting businesses, creating jobs, serving in our armed forces, strengthening our workforce, and contributing to the economic prosperity of our nation.
The San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce remains committed to advancing bipartisan, business-focused public policy that strengthens our workforce, supports employers, encourages entrepreneurship, and expands economic opportunity for all. We believe a competitive economy depends upon policies that provide certainty, promote innovation, and ensure businesses have access to the talent needed to grow and succeed.
We look forward to continuing our work with elected officials, business leaders, and community partners to advance practical solutions that strengthen our economy, support our workforce, and create greater opportunity for future generations.
