YMCA of Greater San Antonio Celebrates 150 Years of Strengthening Community

The YMCA of Greater San Antonio is proud to celebrate an extraordinary milestone—150 years of serving the Greater San Antonio community. Since 1876, the Y has remained committed to strengthening individuals and families through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility, positively impacting generations of residents across our region. To commemorate this historic anniversary, the YMCA will host its signature celebration, Suits, Satin & Sneakers, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Pedrotti's Ranch in Helotes.

The evening will bring together business leaders, community partners, volunteers, donors, and YMCA supporters to celebrate a legacy of service while looking ahead to the next 150 years of impact. The celebration will feature inspiring stories, interactive experiences, dinner, entertainment, and special recognition of the partnerships that have helped shape the YMCA's mission throughout its history. "Reaching 150 years is more than a celebration of our past—it's a celebration of the people, organizations, and communities that have made our mission possible," said Louis Lopez, President & CEO of the YMCA of Greater San Antonio. "Together, we're honoring our legacy while continuing to build a healthier, stronger, and more connected community for future generations."

As the oldest continuously operating nonprofit in San Antonio, the YMCA continues to serve thousands of children, teens, families, adults, and seniors each year through programs that promote wellness, learning, leadership, and belonging.

The YMCA extends its sincere appreciation to the organizations whose generous support has helped make this milestone celebration possible, including City Wide Facility Solutions (Uniting Generations Presenting Sponsor), Mays Family Foundation (Unity Sponsor), Valero (Heritage Sponsor), Spurs Impact (Champion Sponsor), Bank of America and H-E-B (Legacy Sponsors), along with Frost Bank, Gordon Hartman Foundation, Jefferson Bank, KPMG, Ancira Auto Group, CPS Energy, Holland & Knight, Precor, and Security Service Federal Credit Union. The YMCA of Greater San Antonio looks forward to celebrating this historic milestone with the community and continuing its mission of strengthening Greater San Antonio for generations to come.
